Festivall Contest

The Festivall demo and contest was great. I want to thank all the Charleston skaters for skating in the demo and contest . The weather held off and everyone had a great time. Congratulations to Pawnshop team rider Zach (lower pic) for winning the best trick and for Sport Mart Team rider Salih (top pick) for his second place finish.

Invasion of the "Zig Zaggers"

The Krooked Zig Zagger decks are getting popular and you get these really cool glasses with every purchase. It's the invasion of the "Zig Zaggers". Melissa is featured wearing the classy "Zip Zinger" purple while the lower photo of Jeff from Jeff's Skateboard page http://jeffsskateboardpage.blogspot.com/ is sporting the "Zig Zagger" neon green.

Independent Stage 10 trucks coming soon

Indy trucks are the best there is and the new Stage 10 will be out soon. I have been riding Indy's since the Stage 1 in 1981 (they cracked). The pic is a Stage 9 but I will be updating the pic soon. As Steve Alba once said. "The Hells Angels have Harley Davidson, we have Independent"

WOW!! A blast from the past (then and now)

The top pic of two riders was featured on the front page of Charleston Gazette in 1977. The shorter rider is Jeff Cable and the taller rider is me ( Marc). The lower left pic (Marc) was taken 29 years later and was featured in the Charleston Gazette in 2006. The lower right pic (Marc) was taken last month (May 2008) and featured Marc's Board Shop in the State Journal. Thanks to all the Charleston skaters for voting Marc's Board Shop as one of the 55 best things in West Virginia.

Marc's Board Shop back to school demo * This time it's summer camp

The Marc's Board Shop back to school demo is on again for June 20th at 3pm at Elk Center Elementary. This time it's summer camp. Marc's Board Shop is dedicated to promoting skateboarding and this demo will be great. We will have Skateboards and Unicycles and it will feature all the great riders of the Marc's board Shop skateboard team. Pic is from the last demo and thanks to Jeff, Trace, Kevin, and Melissa, the demo was a success.

Zip Zinger & Zig Zagger

Krooked is a company started by Mark Gonzales ('80's Vision Skateboards pro rider). Mark was one of the best street skaters in the 1980's and basically started the street skating craze. Krooked Skateboards sells the Zip Zinger and Zig Zagger, and the boards are getting more popular every day. The boards turn super hard and both have great concave.
